Contestant-dancers form a single-file line behind the bar, leaving ample space for each dancer to maneuver through their positions as they bend & contort their body in a backward arch, passing under the bar without knocking the bar down or touching it in any way. Dancers may not use their hands to keep their balance or collapse to the ground.
Dancers bend at the knees and waist,
and move with a shuffling step.
If you touch the bar, you lose. If the attempt is successful, you go back to the end of the dance line, waiting for another attempt at a lower bar height. After each round, the bar is lowered, incrementally, toward the ground. If a hand or knee touches the ground, the contestant is disqualified. An eliminated contestant must remove himself/herself from the dance line and the competition.
The lone dancer who successfully moves
under the lowest bar position is the winner.
